Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice of longer-held passive poses that enhance and renew the body's vital energy, ease joint-rigidity, immobility, and nourish the body at the whole level.

Yin aids with digestion, muscle repair, organ detoxification and emotional processing. The gentle, supported postures allow the connective tissue ( ligaments, tendons, joints, and fascia) to strengthen, and with a consistent practice over 6 weeks, you will notice postural improvement, increased ease of movement and overall balance of mind & body.

These classes are guided meditation and a great place to start as most people find meditation challenging when they first begin. Cathy will help you learn to switch off the monkey chatter of the mind and learn how to trust the intuitive messages that you will begin to connect to in class.

These Meditation classes help you to become more confident with your practice and more connected to the power within. These classes include introductions to a variety of subjects so you can experience what feels right for you to continue working with on your meditation journey. Classes are limited to 8 people to ensure the right energy and support is available within the group. No experience is required and although the classes are spiritual in nature they are not based on a specific religion and so are open to all.

Inspired by Tess's love of the sea and the belief of the effect of graceful movement on the soul Tess has fused some beautiful surfy type moves with Kalari style yoga and classic Hatha/Vinyasa and Yin to help you explore your body and mind, whilst very much keeping in mind the true ethics of Yoga practise.

Her own style of Yoga Nidra and Pranyama exercises will relax and rejuvenate you, all to some great tunes as well, definitely an intermediate class, expect to bend and sweat and challenge yourself, just a little.

Join Ivana this season for yoga session in a cozy, candlelit studio. Class begins with slow Hatha based flow and then transitions in to a Yin practice with longer, more restorative holds. Finding the balance by surrendering in these passive poses; which your body can relax and release.

Using the Breath combined with this practice will help you find the space to move deeper into the postures, bringing your body and mind into the stillness, peacefulness and the serene.

Asana practice is followed by deep relaxation (Savasana or Yoga Nidra), Pranayama and Meditation.

Sunset Meditations

Meditation and Mindfulness

Time: Fridays, 12.30-1.30pm.

This six week course introduces you to the practice of meditation. It includes information on posture and breath, on working with the tendencies of the mind, and includes many of the techniques used in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy which has been shown to prevent relapse into depression in about 50% of cases.

The course is facilitated by Isabel Ponce Grosso MSc who is a qualified and experienced psychologist, counsellor, and psychological wellbeing practitioner. It is also hosted by Swami Atma Gyanam who has over 20 years of regular meditation experience in the Indian Yoga tradition, with some experience of Buddhist meditation practice like vipassana (mindfulness) and Zen.

Come and try a luscious mix of Restorative, Yin and Yoga Nidra (Deep Yogic Sleep). These restorative sessions help to balance a fast lifestyle (something, I know all about!) and have an enormous capacity to help heal stress related physical and mental symptoms.

What is the class like? You will still stretch, but you will fully relax in the stretch, so that tension can slowly be released. Because the body and mind relax, literally becoming softer, you also create space to get in touch again with your natural qualities of compassion and understanding of others and self. Your body can feel soft, warm, supple and glowing... feeling so comfortable you hardly notice the physical body. As your mind sits back, you can sort of watch everything from a distance, with a smile on your face, knowing everything is okay, exactly as it is. Nothing to accept or reject. Do you remember what it is like to rest in your true nature? Realize you are not separate from life, any more than the air in a balloon is different than the air surrounding it, or the wave separate from the sea.
