Just Yoga Nidra, no more, no less. Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique in which you learn to relax consciously. It is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. The term yoga nidra is derived from two Sanskrit words, yoga meaning union or one-pointed awareness, and nidra which means sleep. During the practice of yoga nidra, you appear to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. For this reason, yoga nidra is often referred to as psychic sleep or deep relaxation with inner awareness. In this threshold state between sleep and wakefulness, contact with the subconscious and unconscious dimensions occurs spontaneously.

In yoga nidra, the state of relaxation is reached by turning inwards, away from outer experiences. If the consciousness can be separated from external awareness and from sleep, it becomes very powerful and can be applied in many ways, for example, to develop the memory, increase knowledge and creativity, or transform one's nature.

Join me in the beautiful Yoga Tree Studio for a monthly guided conscious relaxation experience by candlelight.

Vernal Equinox Harp Healing & Yoga Nidra

Vernal Equinox Harp Healing & Yoga Nidra logo

Led by: Grace & Rachel Cross

Date: March 20th 2020

Time: 6.30-8.30pm

Price: £20.00: Book here.

Join Grace & Rachel for a unique collaboration of Harp Healing & Yoga Nidra on the evening of the Vernal Equinox. The unique music produced by the harp has been recognised since the time of ancient civilisations to renew a person's state of emotional and physical wellbeing. In ancient times, the Greek God Apollo was revered as the guardian of music and medicine, representing the entwined link in ancient medicine between healing practices and harp music. Those seeking healing, renewal or rebirth would retreat to healing temples where they would enter deep meditation while submerged in the soothing tones of harp music.

Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique in which you learn to relax consciously. It is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation, allowing you to drop down into a deep, restful state where transformational healing can occur. During the practice of Yoga Nidra, you appear to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. In this threshold state between sleep and wakefulness, contact with the subconscious and unconscious dimensions occurs spontaneously and this is where authentic healing can take place. Join us for this renewing and restorative evening, combining the ancient art of Harp Therapy and Yoga Nidra, where you will emerge refreshed and in tune with the blooming of Spring at this time of the Vernal Equinox, allowing your intentions from the Winter Solstice to flourish and spring forth. No previous experience is required of either practice in order to take part in this event -
