Amanda

Amanda Grady:

The hummingbird project

Hummingbirds medicine brings love and a renewal of the magic of living. The hummingbird is loved by flowers and plants, it gathers the nectar from the flower, the plant reproduces and more of it's kind are created. It is the only creature that can stop dead whilst travelling at full speed. It can hover, go forward or backwards up or down. The hummingbird lives on nectar and searches for the sweetness of life. It's long nose allows it to bypass the tough outer layer to find the hidden treasures beneath.

The hummingbird project is about spreading joy, love and beauty to all around and into different surroundings. It is about breaking down and through barriers, inhibitions and obstacles and rising up in beauty, love and compassion. It aspires to bring people together, communities together, races together, uniting and rising up together in love. Living in beauty, walking in beauty...together.

I am Amanda Hummingbird and connect deeply to hummingbird medicine. I aspire to share my transformational path of awakening and healing through the practices and tools that have been shared with me and now have become my practices and tools. I began the journey of peeling back the layers of core tension within my body and spirit about 4 or 5 years ago. The journey has brought me back to myself, opened my eyes up to the power that is within all of us to be accountable for all that occurs in my life and confronting my deepest fears. In doing so, I began to become aware of my habitual patterns, behaviours and reactions to life and the same story I was telling myself. Through the support of my personal practices I have begun to tell myself a different story, a story that raises my vibration, to begin to respond to life rather than react, to live my life in more beauty and magic than I ever imagined possible and flow in trust, gratitude and abundance. My practices are meditation, Forrest yoga, bodywork, ceremony, medicine songs, drumming, shamanic flute and free mandala art. I am a certified with Cam Yoga and forrest yoga and a bodyworker. I look forward to connecting with you. Aho!

Charlotte

Charlotte found yoga after being persuaded by a friend to go on a yoga holiday. Having never done it before, she spent a week practising every day and could not believe how great she felt in the space of 7 days! Ivana

Registered Yoga Teacher icon Ivana Prekopova:

Ivana first discovered yoga 7 years ago in Dublin, mainly out of curiosity and wanting to experience the positive reviews we all hear about Yoga. It was a quite a strong physical class but she felt refreshed, energised and clear-minded. She also discovered the slower, softer side of yoga; the Yin yoga.

Moving to Norwich, she started practicing under the guidance of Swami Atma Gyanam Saraswati , whose spiritual approach was a perfect balance of yoga style to her. Ivana is a 200+hrs registered Hatha Yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance UK.

The morning practice is about discovering the benefits of Yoga which will make you feel calmly focused and energized for a successful day ahead. This is followed by a healthy breakfast in the company of fellow Yogis (optional).

Serene Sundays are slower Hatha/Yin based yoga classes which stimulates perception and awareness of the quality and joy of the breath in longer holding postures finished with guided Yoga Nidra meditation.

It's her intention to inspire your heart and to create a noticeable change on and off the mat, so you can live your life with more health, happiness and smile on your face. She aims to teach her classes through a practical, balanced and safe approach.

Ivana believes that Yoga reveals itself through regular practice and meditation. This practice leads to self-observation, personal insights and your own routine improvement.

Leanne teaches a contemporary style of alignment based vinyasa yoga with strong roots in Anusara yoga. Her classes are engaging, challenging and fun, designed to bring balance to both body and mind.

A former dancer, Leanne has been a yoga practitioner since 1999 and a certified teacher since 2004. Over her many years of practice she has been fortunate enough to attend classes and workshops with some of today's most experienced teachers of contemporary hatha yoga, yoga philosophy and anatomy. Rachel

Rachel Cross:

Rachel has had a keen interest in Complementary Therapies since the mid 1990's when she was often used as a 'Guinea Pig' by a group at Scarborough College who were studying many forms of Complementary Therapies. After having had acupuncture needles stuck in her, crystals placed on her and been prescribed tinctures to aid self healing, she decided to do some training herself and embarked on her Aromatherapy Diploma. She then subsequently qualified in Indian Head Massage and Reflexology and began practising her therapies from home whilst working part time at the local University.

A move down to Norfolk in 2003 saw Rachel take a change in her career, working one to one with vulnerable people. During this time she still did therapy work for friends and colleagues and has continued to expand her knowledge and skills and qualified as a Crystal Healing Therapist in 2011 and qualified in Deep Tissue Massage and Pregnancy Massage in January 2016. Not one to rest on her laurels, she also qualified as a 200 hour Yoga Teacher in September 2016 under the guidance of Swami Atma Gyanam Saraswati.

"Since those early days of being practised on, I was astounded by the positive results of many different forms of Complementary Therapies and my own experience working directly with people through my therapies, re-confirms all the time the positive effects they can have. I love that feeling of being able to assist someone in a very gentle yet positive way."

Rachel offers her range of Therapies from the Yoga Tree's very own consultation room and is currently teaching Yoga classes at different venues in Norwich, please check out her Facebook Page and website for further info:

Vanessa

Vanessa Ponsford:

Free Spirit Yoga.
Free spirits are inclined to explore life and taste new experiences that hold true to the deepest parts of themselves versus being influenced by what the masses around them are doing. They are often people who think freely and have the courage to hear their own voice and follow their own integrity. Free Spirit Yoga aims to follow these principles in our yoga practice, with influences from Forrest Yoga , Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha yoga we will enjoy a practice that enables the yogi to venture deeper into asanas and try something new. Learning to listen to their bodys and discover its limitations and possibilities. I encourage each individual to understand how their body moves and work with the breath to get deeper into each posture, whilst interacting and having fun offering a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Each class will involve movement in sun salutations, pranayama (breathing) exercises to calm the mind and strengthen the body with a relaxing yoga nidra at the end of class to settle the soul.

"I have been practising yoga myself for over 10 years and trained as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. Yoga kept me sane through some very dark times of my life. When I was working towards becoming an elite instructor for Bodybalance my yoga self was reignited and my longing to become a yoga teacher grew stronger. I found Atma in one of his classes and soon decided to join him for 200hr teacher training in 2014. I have experienced many different styles of yoga and have seen the benefits of yoga help not only myself but also many of my students. My style comes from the heart with a free spirit. I teach Hatha Yoga but with influences from Forrest Yoga , Ashtanga and Vinyasa. I like to be lighthearted in my teaching, encouraging interaction and enjoyment with a no fluff approach."

Vanessa offers
  • 1-2-1 yoga sessions for £30.
1-2-1 sessions can be for the complete beginner to get to grips with yoga and how their body works. Or for rehabilitation to help the body move more easily perhaps after an accident or due to chronic illness/disability.
  • Reflexology £30 per hour. Reiki £30 per hour
Reflexology is a treatment on the feet (or hands) which works on different reflexes corresponding to different areas of the body. It is believed that any areas of dis-ease in the body are caused by a block f the free flow of energy or qui. By working on these corresponding areas in the foot you can release the blockage enabling the energy to flow freely and aid a healing response.
  • Various yoga classes thoughout the week, including the Forrest Yoga class, and the Sculp & Stretch class which includes yoga with a lot of Pilates style moves for core strength.
